Visa requirements

In General, Filipino citizens need a visa to enter Germany.

To avoid difficulties, it is advisable to set the appointment (if possible) as early as 3 months before the planned date of departure.

The visa section would like to stress that during the regular processing time of a Schengenvisa (approximately one week) no inquiries regarding the status of the application can be answered.

Implementation of the Visa Information System (VIS) in the Republic of the Philippines

VIS - Visa Information System

The Visa Information System (VIS) of the Schengen-States has been in operation since the 11th of October 2011. The visa sections of the Schengen-States are gradually being connected to the VIS. Applicants must first apply for a visa in person, so that biometric data can be collected by recording ten fingerprints and a photograph of the applicant.
