Visa requirements

In General, Filipino citizens need a visa to enter Germany.

The visa section would like to stress that during the regular processing time of a Schengenvisa (approximately one week) no inquiries regarding the status of the application can be answered.

Notice for visitors of the Visa Section

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of German in Manila advises for specific reasons that, during the submission of a visa application, only the applicant may submit the application, and that for this reason only this person can be permitted access to the counter and the premises of the Embassy. Due to an increase in the numbers of applications and to ensure the efficient visa processing the Embassy reserves the right to deny accompanying persons access to the Embassy.

In no case is the companion permitted to accompany the applicant to the application acceptance at the counter.

The non-compliance of this requirement is a violation of the domiciliary right of the Embassy and will be accordingly sanctioned with the expelling from the Embassy premises.

Implementation of the Visa Information System (VIS) in the Republic of the Philippines

VIS - Visa Information System

The Visa Information System (VIS) of the Schengen-States has been in operation since the 11th of October 2011. The visa sections of the Schengen-States are gradually being connected to the VIS. Applicants must first apply for a visa in person, so that biometric data can be collected by recording ten fingerprints and a photograph of the applicant.
