Under its Small-Scale Projects Scheme, the German Embassy Manila has earmarked 3 million Php for small-scale development projects in the Philippines for 2012. Small-scale projects are local initiatives financed by the Federal Foreign Ministry through the German Embassy.

A delegation of the German Federal Criminal Police (Bundeskriminalamt or BKA) visited the Philippines for several high level talks. The delegation was lead by the President of the BKA Mr. Jörg Ziercke.

The German Embassy Manila is set to launch a bigger installment of its major cultural project – the Philippine-German Month 2012. There will be classical concerts at Paco Park, Manila, a Chamber Music Concert at the Philamlife Auditorium in Malate, and a German Open Air Cinema at the Rizal Park.

Germany has decided to provide around 500,000 Euros (roughly 30 million Pesos) in humanitarian emergency aid for the victims of the tropical storm “Sendong”, which has caused widespread devastation and loss of life in parts of Mindanao.

The Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Guido Westerwelle, has conveyed his condolences to Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Albert F. del Rosario in connection with the disaster wrought upon the Philippines by the tropical storm “Sendong” (international name 'Washi').

The German government has recently provided around 100,000 Euros (roughly 6 million Pesos) through Karl Kübel Stiftung, to fund a project supporting the fight against sex trafficking of children and women through awareness raising. The project will be implemented in eight municipalities in Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Sur in Mindanao.

GPCCI holds 1st Philippine-German Energy Forum
This special photo exhibit is taking place at the Belau National Museum in the Republic of Palau from 1 October 2011 to 30 September 2012. The exhibit showcases the milestones in the relationship between Germany and Palau. The exhibit with stations in Koror/Palau, Kokopo/Papua-Newguinea, Porirua near Wellington/New Zealand and Apia/Samoa is supported with a total of 80.000 Euros from the Federal Foreign Ministry of Germany.
