German Embassy celebrates Day of German Unity
The German Embassy Manila celebrated the 21st anniversary of German unification last October 4, 2011 at the Dusit Thani Hotel inMakatiCity. The celebration also marked the debut of the new German ambassador toManila, Dr. Joachim Heidorn, who was accredited earlier that day.
Ambassador Heidorn, in his first speech as the Head of Mission to Manila, recognized the long-standing cooperation between Germany and the Philippines, and called for further strengthening of the countries’ bilateral ties. The evening’s Guest of Honor, Secretary Albert del Rosario of the Department of Foreign Affairs, replied to the Ambassador’s message with the same fervor to promote stronger German-Philippine relations.
The unity day celebration was also attended by foreign dignitaries, partners and friends from the business and government sector and representatives of the different German institutions in the Philippines.
