German Embassy welcomes 4 DAAD Scholars

First Secretary for Cultural Affairs Mr. Thomas Schrod welcomed to Manila the four new scholars sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Ramesh Adhikari, Johnson Kolubah, Mirwansyah Prawiranegara, and Rowena Zapanta are to complete their studies under the SPRING (Spatial Planning for Regions in Growing Economies) Programme at the University of the Philippines – School of Urban and Regional Planning (UP-SURP).

SPRING is a 2-year Masters degree programme focused on spatial planning in development countries, discussing the rapid growth of megacities, searching for solutions in the conflict between environmental protection and economic development as well as dealing with strategies to improve traffic systems.The course starts with one-year study at the university 'Technische Universität Dortmund' in Germany, followed by another year at one of the four partner universities in Asia, Africa or Latin America.
