Message of the German Ambassador Christian-Ludwig Weber-Lortsch on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of TÜV Rheinland’s presence in the Philippines

20 years TÜV Rheinland in the Philippines – that is a remarkable anniversary. There are various actors whom I would like to congratulate on that occasion. On one hand of course I congratulate TÜV Rheinland itself. From a small regional technical testing organisation TÜV Rheinland has developed into a global player in the field of technical services in the last 140 years. As such, TÜV Rheinland has recognized Asia’s huge growth potential early on and has established its presence in the second biggest ASEAN member state in a timely manner. This shows TÜV Rheinland’s business sense and foresight.

On the other hand, compliments should also go to the Philippine economy. With TÜV Rheinland the Philippine economy is fortunate to have a partner that remarkably combines some of the unique qualities of German companies: leadership in technology, innovation, tradition and experience. These traits are combined with a special sense of responsibility for the safety of customers and the protection of the environment worldwide. Philippine companies that aim for seminal, sustainable business models are in good hands here.

As representative of the Federal Republic of Germany I could also congratulate myself. When our companies can do their share in strengthening the competitiveness of Philippine business, and contribute to the sustainable success of the Philippine economy, this is also a significant contribution in further developing our bilateral relations. As one of the leading exporting nations worldwide, we have a genuine interest in dynamically growing trade and strong economic partners.
