In addition to the talks in Manila the delegation looked into the poverty alleviation and peace building needs and efforts of the Caraga Region in Mindanao. Caraga Region is a focal point of German development assistance. Since January 2011 the COSERAM Programme supported poverty reduction and peace building in the Caraga region. This 4-year programme with a project value of approx. 10 million US-dollars is a joint undertaking of the Philippine and German governments, implemented by German development cooperations and local partners. On their visit, the Parlamentarians met with local government representatives, civil society organisations, church representatives and indigenous communities.
